Charles Rosé 2014

The 2014 Charles & Charles
Rosé is a wonderful kitchen sink blend of Syrah, Mourvedre, Cabernet Sauvignon,
Grenache, Cinsault and Counoise grapes from Washington's Columbia Valley. In
the glass the wine shines vibrantly in shades of pink and fuchsia. It is a
dry-ish wine, approaching off-dry status with hints of sugar lingering beneath
the berrylike fruit, but not at all perceived as sweet. The nose is redolent of
ripe cherries with a subtle bit of strawberry jam. On the palate the fruit is
fat (or is that phat) with tart raspberry and strawberry mixed to lusher notes
of cherry. There is an underlying minerality and herbal component to this wine
that lends structure to the whole thing making it more than just a pretty wine.

~ BOTTLE PROS
Alluring aromatics of
crushed currant, bold berry fruits, hints of sage and a finely woven toasty oak
component. Medium to full bodied on the
palate, mounting towards a firm and lengthy finish, turning very graceful.
