Today’s cocktail is a simple pleasure that is easy to make and wonderful to sip. With just three ingredients, The Orange Blossom originated in the early 1900’s at the Waldorf Astoria hotel created by bartender Frank Meier who named it after the hotel's favored flower. The original drink called for Gin, Orange Juice and Orange Blossom water, but the recipe has evolved with time to include Sweet Vermouth. Below we offer you our take on the cocktail; with the optional addition of Orange Flower Water. Though somewhat lost in time, the Orange Blossom cocktail is a drink worthy of reviving. Cheers!
The Orange Blossom In a shaker glass filled with ice add:
Shake till well chilled, then strain into a chilled stemmed cocktail glass. Float ¼ Teaspoon Orange Blossom Water* (optional). Garnish with an Orange Twist.
*Orange Blossom and Orange Flower water are one and the same and can typically be found at your local health food store. |
